Welcome to the Ikkoku-kan

Yosh, finally!
This is my favourite manga series ever: Maison Ikkoku!
It has been realised in the early '80s, but the author is the same of Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha: Rumiko Takahashi.
The story talks about the complicated love story between a poor student, Godai, and a widow called Kyoko Otonashi (the one in the pic) : the Ikkoku-kan is a mix between a hotel and a group of apartments (it's a very common structure in Japan) ; Godai lives there and Kyoko is the beautiful, sweet and kind administrator who has recently lost his beloved husband... but Godai is ready to do everything to marry her, even if it won't be so easy! ^__^
I love this series, because it's the perfect mix of humour and romance and, the most important, the characters are super funny!! XDDD The other tenants of the Ikkoku-kan don't do anything but drinking beer or sake, dancing and laughing like crazy! And above all...they love bothering the poor Godai with their jokes! XDD
It's just wonderful, even if it's kinda old, but if you like the genre (a "funny shojo") you can't lose it!

So, here's my first tribute to this wonderful manga! *_* As I said before, the girl in the pic is Kyoko, the administrator ("kanrinin-san" in Japanese) while the dog is called Soichiro-san, how funny it is! XD
I have to say that I'm pretty satisfied about how this came out, although the background is not mine but it's an image I found on Google. Architecture is not so easy to draw, and besides...I was not in the mood to do all those particulars. But I hope you still enjoy this one! Personally, I like how Kyoko came out. ^__^

I want to draw something else about this! *__* Maybe next time I'll do a pic with Kyoko and Godai... Let's see!
